Baby

More details as promised...

I realized I didn't actually say when Oliver was born...He was born at 10:36 pm on January 25, 2010. Here are some pics of the event:

Sunny in his garb ready for the C-section...

Me in my garb...

Ollie in his NICU garb...it was so sad to see him all tubed out.

Ollie in Grandma Becks arms, first day out of the NICU.

Chubby cheeks on his way home. It looks like the car seat is choking him, but he slept in this for 4 hours when we got home. It was nice.

Oliver - all glammed up and hating life.

Learned a little TOO quickly from Dad and is just relaxin and kickin back Al Bundy style.

Final pic of Ollie's wall/crib...just for fun and cause I like how it turned out. :)

Oliver Charles Beck - Ollie

I didn't bring the camera cord to the hospital so i can't post pics yet...but Oliver is finally here! Labor was hell and lasted for 23 hours...with 3 full hours of pushing and then when that failed...a c section. I was scared to death, but so far after the Labor i had and the c section recovery i've had...i would say C section all the way. Oliver was 8.6 lbs, 22 inches (partially because his cone head from getting stuck in my pelvis...). He was in the NICU (Newborn Intensive Care Unit) for 2 days for breathing problems, but he is all good now and in our room with us. He has sunny's mouth, my big toe, tons of hair - cut in a mullet, cute cute chubby cheeks and looks like a goblin. So far he eats lots and sleeps lots and is cute and great!

I'll post pics on friday as soon as i am home. :)

Machete

Apparently we did a crap job hanging up the shelf in the baby room cause last night at 12:30 it came crashing down. Sunny jumped out of bed, grabbed his machete (yes, we keep it right by the bed) and went creeping through the house to see who had broken in...meanwhile i was sleeping soundly, snoring away through all of this.

Updates

So I lost my ankles about a week ago. I usually have really boney tendony feet but they are just juicey now. They even squish out of my shoes...its just delightful.

We also have been decorating the baby room. I made bumpers and sheets and we painted some frames and made some airplane pics. We also painted the wooden airplane and hung it up. We still have a few more finishing touches to put together, but i thought i'd attach some pics of what we had so far. We are thinking there will be some sewn clouds hanging on the blue wall behind the airplane mobile type things. and we are hoping to find some cute tin airplanes to add to the shelf. (Unlike the rest of the world, photography is not my strong suit...)

We get our car seat in the mail on tuesday, and after that we will have everything that we "need"...or rather that we think we need. I'm sure we will discover all sorts of new things we need when our babe comes.

We are getting really excited though! I am actually feeling pretty well. I am totally uncomfortable, but i'm not really in pain and i'm just excited that there is an end in sight! I only have 4 more days in the office and then 2 from home and then i'll be waking up to either a baby or naturally...i'm pretty excited to be rid of the alarm clock!
